The next Greater Hunter Makers & Technology Festival will be held at Newcastle Jockey Club on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd September 2018.
The inaugural Greater Hunter Makers & Technology Festival brought people and ideas together, showcasing the Hunter Region’s world-class engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
Over 70 displays of ideas and creativity, designed to inspire, inform, connect and entertain thousands of attendees in a family-friendly environment.
Hunter Valley Electric Vehicle Show joins the Makers and Technology Festival
This year Ai Group is pleased to announce that the Makers and Technology Festival will be joined by the Hunter Valley Electric Vehicle Show from the University of Newcastle. On show will be an expected 50 electric bikes, experimental cars and commercial electric cars.
“The Makers Festival was a natural fit of the EV Show because we both showcase established companies, emerging companies and students with a common theme of technology and engineering,” said Emeritus Professor Tim Roberts.

Friday 21st September 9am to 4pm
- 9am – 12:30pm – Exhibitor, suppliers, customers and other business networking
- 12.30pm – Official opening
- 1pm – Business and school group visitation
- 4pm – Business Networking.
Business Visitor admission is FREE – Registration is now open.
General Public Day
Saturday 22nd September 9am to 4pm.
A program of activities and talks will be developed to inform and entertain adults, teens and young ones. There will be technology for all tastes and interests.
General Public Day is free and a ticket is not required.
